No Objection Certificates

In order to compete overseas, in competitions organised by other federations, riders need their federation to vouch for them, confirming that they can compete at the level required. This requires a letter from the Malta Equestrian Federation, and will be provided to riders of the appropriate level. This applies to both international (FEI organised) and national (organised by other federations or Organising Committees).

Requirements

They will be issued based on the results of MEF competitions. Riders must have competed at the chosen level locally before they are issued with a certificate of no objection. Riders who compete at a certain level but are eliminated will not be issued a No Objection Certificate.

Riders who gain a clear round (or a maximum of four faults) in local competitions and wish to go up a class, will be issued a No Objection Certificate for up to 10cm higher, for classes under 100cm or 5cm for classes over 100cm, than the class ridden locally. For example, if a rider competes in an MEF competition and goes clear in the 70cm class, they may request a No Objection Certificate for the 80cm class. If they ride clear in a 110cm class they may request a NOC up to 105cm.

Should riders have competed successfully in competitions overseas, the MEF will issue No Objection Certificates if official results can be presented. It is up to the rider to present these to the federation.

Should riders have not had the chance to compete locally, they can be assessed by coaches visiting Malta at the MEF’s invitation.

No Objection Certificates will not be issued in any other instance.

Decisions taken by the MEF regarding No Objection Certificates are final and not subject to appeal. Disciplinary proceedings will be initiated to riders who contest decisions made by the Executive Board.

Price

No Objection Certificates will be issued at a cost of €10 per NOC as of season 2023-2024.
