Our Mission
To drive and develop equestrian sport in Malta and Gozo in a modern, sustainable and structured manner with guaranteed integrity, athlete welfare, equal opportunity and a fair and ethical partnership with the horse.
Our objectives.
To promote the sport of dressage in Malta and Gozo, to actively encourage and develop participation in the healthy recreation of dressage and show jumping by all people
To improve the standards of riding and the training of horses, and horsemanship, all to foster the enjoyment by participants in equestrian sport, as well as the safety and welfare of horses
To ensure the provision of high quality, safe and well-managed competition for participants in dressage and show jumping, in particular to encourage and facilitate the development of young persons
To provide high quality training and education opportunities, to maximise the potential of participants and horses through knowledge, understanding, welfare and development

Astrid Camilleri: President
While not a rider herself, Astrid has taken a keen interest in the local equestrian scene through her daughter’s keen interest. A doctor by profession, she also runs a successful winery and steers the federation towards its goals. Astrid also holds a position on the EquestriMalta Board.

Paula Calamatta: General Secretary
Paula Calamatta has had a passion for horses all her life. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Equine Science at Midway University in Kentucky where she was also on the equestrian team. Having worked in Brussels in animal welfare, Paula brings a wealth of knowledge to the MEF. She is also a member of the European Equestrian Federation EU Committee.

Thomas Xuereb: Treasurer
An FEI Level II certified coach, Tommy has dedicated his life to the understanding of our equine partners. He has worked and competed locally and abroad and strives to create at atmosphere of fair competition on the island.
