The Malta Equestrian Federation is invited to take a team of four riders to the World Clubs Tournament in Lamotte Buevron in France by the Fédération Française d'Équitation (FFE). This year’s team was selected by means of a qualifier competition stretching over four show jumping shows during the 2022/2023 season. The riders that make up this year’s team are Redeemer Attard, Corinne Gauci, Faith Camilleri and Shyanne Cefai.

The team is coached by Head Coach, Ettore Metrangolo.

Other countries who participated in last year’s competition include France, Italy, Belgium, Turkey, Madagascar and Mauritius.

Held from 25-27 July, the competition is run like a Nation’s Cup with three competitive rounds. The first round is held against the clock and determines the starting order for the day. Riders accumulate faults in the second and third round, with the lowest number of faults taking first place. In the event of a tie, the fastest team during the second and third round will take the lead.

Malta placed third in last year’s competition with Italy in first place and Mauritius in second place, beating the home team.

The trip is also supported by EquestriMalta, who are the MEF’s main sponsor and Airmalta, who have provided flights for the team and supporting staff.
