EquestriMalta sponsors National Show Jumping Team

EquestriMalta have come on board with the Malta Equestrian Federation as key sponsors to the National Show Jumping team competing in Lamotte Buevron in France this July for the second time in a row.

EquestriMalta is a major sponsor of the MEF, supporting essential programmes that increase the standard of equestrian sport in Malta.

The Malta Equestrian Federation is invited to take a team of four riders to the World Clubs Tournament in Lamotte Buevron in France by the Fédération Française d'Équitation (FFE). This year’s team was selected by means of a qualifier competition stretching over four show jumping shows during the 2022/2023 season. The riders that make up this year’s team are Redeemer Attard, Corinne Gauci, Faith Camilleri and Shyanne Cefai.

The team is coached by Head Coach Ettore Metrangolo.

Other countries who participated in last year’s competition include France, Italy, Belgium, Turkey, Madagascar and Mauritius.

Held from 25-27 July, the competition is run like a Nation’s Cup with three competitive rounds. The first round is held against the clock and determines the starting order for the day. Riders accumulate faults in the second and third round, with the lowest number of faults taking first place. In the event of a tie, the fastest team during the second and third round will take the lead.

Malta placed third in last year’s competition with Italy in first place and Mauritius in second place, beating the home team.

The trip to France is also supported by Airmalta, who sponsored the team’s flights and KEP Italia who have provided helmets for the team.

EquestriMalta is the government authority that oversees all sports involving equines, including racing and polo.
